Leeza Fazioli is a Clinical Project Manager II at Proxima CRO, a contract research organization that serves the emerging drug and medical device industries. Leeza has 10+ years of experience driving global clinical trial strategy, scientific communication, and cross-functional collaboration across academia, small biotech, CROs, and pharma. Prior to joining the Proxima team, Leeza was a Therapeutic Strategy Manager at the CRO Novotech. After holding this most recent industry position, Leeza became a full-time student in a master of pharmaceutical science program to bridge hands on clinical operations experience with scientific knowledge. She is now enrolled part-time and hopes to bring this specialized education which concentrates on drug development and translational research to her passion for managing scientific projects here at Proxima. She is also pursuing a graduate certificate in clinical research trial design.
During her time at Novotech Leeza was a designated subject matter expert (SME) in rare disease clinical trials through expertise gained from working with rare and difficult to enroll populations. She was also the SME for innovation focusing on decentralized clinical trial solutions. She has worked globally with extensive experience in the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Outside of therapeutic interventions, Leeza has managed projects in natural language processing (NLP) to extract relevant patient outcome information to ultimately inform surgical prediction models.
